I help students

good knowing
the college will love them back-
Hello, my name is Nancy Gorman, and I’m so glad you found me! I genuinely look forward to meeting you and your son or daughter. I live with my husband, and our giant Goldendoodle, “Vandal” in Carlsbad Ca. I work remotely online through zoom so I can assist students located anywhere across the country. My husband and I raised four children all of whom attended La Costa Canyon High School. Our oldest daughter coached sports at La Costa Canyon H.S. for several years and our son currently coaches sports at Pacific Ridge Academy in Carlsbad. You may know them already.
Growing up, I was the first person in my family to graduate college. If I’ve said it once, I've said it a million times,... graduating college changed my life. It opened so many doors to discovering my talents and abilities and introduced me to such a wonderfully diverse group of people. Those years I spent on campus studying and working built my confidence in more ways I can count. If students know exactly what they want to do in their adult life and the major they’re applying for, I say, “that’s fantastic,” but, I also get equally excited for the student who’s confused and doesn’t know where to start the college process. I genuinely love nurturing, inspiring, and motivating teens to recognize and embrace their unique skills and personality traits and use them to their advantage. This is what makes them who they are and will carry them throughout life.
I have completed Master’s level coursework at the University of California at Irvine, attaining my Independent Educational Consulting Certificate. I also spent a full week training with IECA, studying under some of the best mentors in college admissions consulting where I completed the IECA summer intensive program at Claremont McKenna College in Pomona. I attend at least one or more national conventions every year, networking with my colleagues, attending workshops, and touring dozens of colleges across the country. I regularly read books and articles related to higher education and am an active member of IECA and HECA organizations that hold their members to the highest standards and ethics in college admissions consulting.
